At Your Service

Quality

Quality is at the root of everything I do. When you are putting time and effort into something you care about, quality should be the goal and the outcome. I believe in hard work and doing things right, treating peoples home as if it were my own.

That is why using quality products and components will help ensure that what you get is what you are after. Understanding the requirements of new and challenging products is key to success. Experience and product knowledge is the first step to having something done right.

I believe that quality starts from the ground up.

Up to Date

The tile industry is evolving rapidly, using all types of different products for your home or business. From small glass mosaics to large format porcelain panels that look like stone slabs, these tiles all have special applications that need to be followed to ensure that they are done correctly. I follow TCNA (Tile Council of North America) guidelines and am always working with professionals in my field along with architects, designers and product representatives to ensure that the challenges in the field are met with the right product for the job.

A lot of this comes from experience. That experience has come from installing thousands of feet of tile. What this means for you is a well versed installer who has successfully installed many of the most difficult tiles and products available.

Getting Started

I can take your ideas and guide you through to getting your job done right! A properly done bathroom involves a lot more knowledge and expertise than you might think. From layout, to prep-work, waterproofing and products these are the things that will make the difference between a 1 or 2 year shower and a shower that can last a lifetime.

Made with Love

Whether you’re walking into an old space or a brand new building sparks excitement for what’s about to come. Seeing how doing something so simple to your home like new paint, a remodeled bath or a new kitchen is so gratifying. And watching the looks on peoples faces as they see it happen and the final product is a gift. Craftsmanship shows people that you care about something as much as they do, and what is more valuable than the place that people call home? Nothing.

That is building something with love.

The End In Mind

What makes the difference between a high quality tile job and a mediocre tile job, is often the setter's ability to plan an appropriate layout from the get go. The saying: "begin with the end in mind," is very literal in the tile world. Making sure the tiles flow symmetrically and evenly throughout the project (especially since most walls are not symmetrical or sometimes not flat or plumb) an expert setter will know how to prep and set you up for success, whereas a less experienced setter may not realize the issues until it's too late to make any changes.

Ready to Start?

Before you start swinging sledge hammers and going crazy like HGTV, you need to have an idea of what you want your finished product to look like, and make sure you have the space, expertise, and the material to get the job done right.

Here are some tips:

  • Line Up Your Tradesmen First: look to people who have the knowledge to do the project. You would be surprised at how few people can actually fit in a bathroom at the same time.
  • Schedule Appropriately: different trades need to come and go in a specific order, so figure out who you want to use, and hiring a contractor to get those trades organized and coordinated is critical to making your project run smoothly.
  • Details Details Details: Your job can come to a screeching halt if you cannot decide on some of your details, so start thinking about them ahead of time, because some of your material could be backordered or hard to find. (Eg: plumbing fixtures, special order tile, cabinetry, etc.)
  • Stock Your Job: Having all your materials on site will make the removal and replacement that much faster. (Some materials can only be ordered through tradesmen or contractors - so coordinate this with your designated professional)
  • Be Realistic With Your Budget: It is human nature to try to get the most out of your dollar, but typically with any job, there are 3 components at play: Time (speed), Budget (expense), and Quality. In the best case scenarios, you will get what you want in 2 out of the 3 components, but never all 3. Understand that the people you hire are working hard and doing a difficult and dirty job that is physically demanding.
  • Quality Parts Makes For a Quality Product: Understand that not all materials are created equal, and you often get what you pay for. It's hard to build a high end product off of a poor foundation. And not all tradesmen are good at what they do. If your walls are not straight or plumb, there is only one way to get it to look straight and plumb.
